ZIM-W vs SA-W: ZImbabwe women to host South Africa women in historic series

Zimbabwe women are going to host South Africa women for a historic five-match T20I series in September. It will mark the first bilateral meeting between the two countries (women's teams) in the shortest form of the game. The Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo will host the monumental series. The series will get underway on September 11, and the final match will be played on September 19.

 Zimbabwe Cricket's managing director, Givemore Makoni, expressed happiness over the announcement of the schedule and said that it will give their players a wonderful opportunity to test themselves against the finest talent in the international circuit.

"South Africa are one of the strongest teams in world cricket, and this tour presents our players with a valuable opportunity to test themselves against elite opposition in home conditions," ZC managing director Makoni said in a statement.

"This series reflects Zimbabwe Cricket's continued commitment to investing in the women's game and creating more opportunities for our players to compete at the highest level."

Notably, Zimbabwe women have recently had several opportunities to measure their skillset and hone their craft. They played Pakistan in Pakistan earlier this month in a white-ball series comprising three ODIs and as many T20Is. Despite several heartwarming performances, they were clean-swept in both formats.

They also had the rare chance to play the White Ferns in New Zealand in a three-match ODI series and in as many T20Is. While they couldn't win a single game on the tour, it was an incredible opportunity for them to rub shoulders with the reigning T20 world champions.
