Zimbabwe unveiled their squad for the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh on Wednesday, July 8. They’ve retained the same core of players from the team that reached the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka.
Fast bowler Newman Nyamhuri and batter Milton Shumba are the only new additions to the team. Nyamhuri made his international debut in December 2024 but is yet to feature in T20Is. The left-arm pacer recently scalped six wickets in Zimbabwe’s historic win in the one-off Test against Bangladesh.
He followed it up with a Player of the Match performance in the first ODI, picking up 2 for 22 from six overs and scoring 33 off 51 balls in his team’s 25-run victory in a low-scoring fixture. On the other hand, Shumba marks his return to T20Is after 2022, having last played in the T20 World Cup in Australia.
Ben Curran, who earned a late call-up to Zimbabwe's T20 World Cup squad earlier this year as Brendan Taylor's injury replacement, has retained his place and could well be seen making his T20I debut during the series alongside Nyamhuri.
T20I series to begin on July 15
Meanwhile, Graeme Cremer has been ruled out with a left-arm fracture, while Taylor and Tony Munyonga have also been omitted from the squad after featuring in Zimbabwe's T20 World Cup campaign.
Sikandar Raza will continue to lead the side as Zimbabwe aim to build on their remarkable performance at the T20 World Cup 2026, where they topped group B unbeaten, registering famous wins over Australia and Sri Lanka. The three-match T20I series against Bangladesh begins on Wednesday, July 15 at Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo.
