India are all set to take on West Indies in the first ODI of the three-match series beginning on Sunday, September 27 at Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram. The Men in Blue haven’t had a good year in ODIs, having lost to New Zealand at home earlier this year and also suffered a 1-2 defeat against England in their last 50-over assignment.
Hence, they will look for a fresh start in the upcoming series as the build-up to the ODI World Cup 2027 begins. On the other hand, West Indies have also been in tatters in terms of their ODI performances, having lost their last four series on the trot. Their last series victory in the format came in August 2025 against Pakistan.
West Indies’ last ODI series win in India came way back in November 2002, while their last ODI win in India was in December 2019. India have won the last 13 bilateral ODI series played between the two teams, a record in the format.
