After registering a narrow five-wicket win in the first ODI, India will look to get closer to a series victory with another win in the second match on Saturday, November 7, at Hnry Stadium in Wellington. Both teams were tested on a spicy surface in Auckland in the series opener, which had enough in it for the pacers.

Arshdeep Singh (4/70), Gurnoor Brar (3/44) and Anshul Kamboj (2/22) made good use of the bounce on offer and skittled the Kiwis for just 185. In reply, riding on a splendid innings from Virat Kohli (74 off 51), India chased down the DLS revised target of 143 in 22.4 overs.

The weather is likely to interrupt the proceedings during the course of the match, with a 60% chance of precipitation on the match day. An exact opposite challenge from Auckland also awaits both sides, with longer straight boundaries and shorter side boundaries on offer in Wellington.

Players to watch out for in NZ vs IND

Rohit Sharma (IND):

The star opener was dismissed for a six-ball duck in the first ODI, getting caught at mid-off. Rohit Sharma doesn’t have a great record in New Zealand as he’s yet to score a century in the country. The veteran opener will look to set the record straight in the upcoming fixture.

Kyle Jamieson (NZ):

The towering speedster has had success against India historically. He scalped one wicket, giving away 34 runs in seven overs in the first ODI and will again pose a big threat to the famed Indian batting lineup in the upcoming fixture.
