Match Preview
New Zealand (NZ) and South Africa (SA) head into the fifth T20I of the five-match series at Hagley Oval in Christchurch on Wednesday, March 25.
The series came alive in the previous match when the South African bowlers kept chipping at the Kiwi batting line-up in the second half of the 165-run chase. What looked like a straightforward journey turned into a topsy-turvy one for the home team and the Proteas grabbed the opportunity to strangle the batters and eke out a win by 19 runs.

The result of the fourth match means there is everything to play for in the last match with the series level at 2-2. South Africa have the momentum behind them after an inspiring performance while New Zealand appeared to struggle with some of the senior professionals missing out from the XI. As a matter of fact, the Kiwis have not won a bilateral T20I series against the South Africans and they would be motivated to create history come Wednesday.
Tom Latham, who is suffering from a thumb injury, has been ruled out and James Neesham is expected to continue being the captain. On the other hand, there are no injury concerns for South Africa and they are expected to go in with the same winning team. There is a chance of rain in the evening which might lead to a stop-start and truncated game. About the surface, there is a high likelihood of it being pace-friendly and bouncy.

NZ vs SA: Players to watch out for
Connor Esterhuizen (SA):
The 24-year-old has impressed one and all in his debut series. The wicketkeeper-batter began with a mature unbeaten 45 in the first match, helping his team to a victory. After a couple of low scores, Esterhuizen made a comeback with a solid 57 in the previous match. Given the form and skills the young batter possesses, he is expected to play a key role once again.
Kyle Jamieson (NZ):
The tall fast bowler will enjoy the conditions at Hagley Oval. The right-armer delivered a fantastic spell of 4-1-29-2 in the previous match to go with his 2/42 in the third T20I. The bowler's experience is very much needed for the all-important fifth match and the 31-year-old is slated to lead the pace attack with incision.
Today's Match Prediction: South Africa to win
