Match Preview
Afghanistan and South Africa clash in Match 13 of the T20 World Cup 2026 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, February 11. Both the teams had contrasting results in their respective opener - Afghanistan lost to New Zealand by five wickets while South Africa won against Canada by 57 runs.
The Atalans were expected to perform much better on the Chepauk strip. Although their batters put up a competitive score their bowlers, especially the spinners, proved ineffective in containing the runs. Therefore, the performance of the tweakers might be a cause of concern as the team relies heavily on them to drive the team into an advantageous position.

South Africa had a near-perfect game on Monday night. The batters looked in fine touch and the bowlers were on the money. Interestingly, all the wickets that the Proteas scalped belonged to the pacers. The team's strategy to go with four pacers and one spinner proved good enough against Canada, but will it pass the test again on Wednesday under the sun?Nevertheless, the team will have a slight advantage over their opponents as they would be playing at the same venue, Ahmedabad.

AFG vs SA: Players to watch out for
Rahmanullah Gurbaz (AFG):
Gurbaz has been a part of the Gujarat Titans in the IPL though the right-hander could not get a game during his stint. Despite that, the Afghan has witnessed a substantial amount of games at the venue and so that knowledge might come in handy. Moreover, given how the pitch performed on Monday night, and if other pitches are also going to be more or less the same, Gurbaz might have a good time as it would aid his style of play.
Lungi Ngidi (SA):
Ngidi bowled an excellent spell of 4-0-31-4 against Canada. The 29-year-old's height, action, delivery point and variations hold him in good stead on a variety of wickets. The right-armer can bowl fast and vary his pace smartly which can get him wickets at any stage of the game. If not wickets, the bowler can be successful in containing the runs at the very least.
Today's Match Prediction: South Africa to win
