India women are set to face Sri Lanka women in the final of the Women’s Asian Games, with the winner claiming the gold medal. The contest will be a rematch of the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games, where India secured a 19‑run victory.
Both teams enter the final in excellent form, but India remain strong favourites, having defeated Sri Lanka in the Women’s Asia Cup final on September 13.
India swept past Japan by eight wickets in the quarterfinals and then crushed Bangladesh by 114 runs in the semifinals. Sri Lanka were equally dominant, beating Malaysia by 86 runs in the quarters before overcoming Pakistan by eight wickets in the semis.
If the final is washed out, India will be awarded the gold medal by virtue of being the higher‑seeded team.
