The WPL 2027 auction concluded with Australia captain Sophie Molineux emerging as the most expensive signing. Molineux had entered the auction with a base price of INR 50 lakh. She was part of RCB's title-winning campaign in 2024.
UP Warriorz showed immediate interest in the Australia skipper as soon as her name came up in the auction. RCB also joined the bidding, pushing the price past the INR 1 crore mark. UP Warriorz eventually secured Molineux for INR 1.1 crore. The left-arm spinning allrounder had been sidelined for several months with a hip injury and only recently returned to action during Australia's T20I series against New Zealand.
