Mitchell Marsh is one of the most feared ball strikers going around in white-ball cricket. Fondly called "The Bison", Marsh first hogged the spotlight when he was announced captain of Australia's squad for the ICC Men's U19 World Cup in New Zealand in 2010.
Marsh aggregated 201 runs in six games at an average of 33.50. He batted at a strike rate of 81.70 and struck two fifties. He guided Australia to their third Men's U19 World Cup title with a 25-run win over Pakistan in the summit clash.

The U19 success opened the doors of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the teenager. Deccan Chargers signed him for INR 20 lakhs ahead of the 2010 season. Marsh got just two games in the entire season as he scored 28 runs, averaging 14.00 at a strike rate of 93.33. He was subsequently released.
Pune Warriors India (PWI) showed significant interest in Marsh at the auction in 2011 and splurged INR 1.31 crore to secure his services. The paycheck saw a 556% increase in his IPL earnings.
The right-handed batter scored 50 runs across three innings and also claimed seven wickets at an impressive economy rate of 6.98.
He was offered INR 1.40 crore for the 2012 season, but an untimely ankle injury ruled him out of the season. The West Australian's paycheck increased by nine per cent to INR 1.54 crore in the 2013 season, and he accumulated 140 runs at a strike rate of 132.07. The right-arm medium pacer also bagged seven wickets at an economy rate of 9.41.
Rising Pune Supergiants offered him a contract of INR 4.80 crore in 2016, but he could only play three games, scoring seven runs and taking four wickets. He was ruled out pre-season (2017) with an injury.
Thereafter, he joined Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for INR 2.00 crore and remained a part of the franchise for two years (2020, 2021). Delhi Capitals (DC) snaffled him for INR 6.50 crore at the 2022 mega auction, and it marked the beginning of a three-year-long partnership between the two.
Marsh was released by Delhi before the start of the 2025 season. LSG showed a keen interest in the Aussie and brought him on board for INR 3.40 crore. Marsh had an impressive IPL 2025 for LSG as he racked up 627 runs at a strike rate of 163.70, including a hundred and six fifties. He was retained by the franchise for the 2026 season for the same price.
