Prasidh Krishna made his international debut against England during an ODI in 2021. The 6 foot 2 inches tall lad from Bengaluru, Karnataka, had all the ingredients to become the next big thing in the Indian fast bowling circuit. Krishna immediately rose to fame on his ODI debut, picking up 4/54 in 8.1 overs and helped India win by 66 runs.

After a few impressive performances with the ball, Krishna suffered a string of injuries, which became a major hindrance in his cricketing career time and again. He picked up a stress fracture on his left leg in 2019, a back stress fracture in 2022, and a quadriceps injury in 2024.

He began his journey in the IPL, during the 2018 season, as he was picked up by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) after finishing as the joint-second-highest wicket-taker of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2017-18. He played a pivotal role in Karnataka’s triumph with 17 wickets from eight innings at an average of 16.52 and an economy of 4.80.

Krishna had a brilliant first season in the IPL, taking ten wickets from seven matches at an average of 26. After two below-par seasons, he scalped 12 wickets from ten games in 2021 and 19 wickets from 17 matches during Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) run to the final in 2022.

Krishna had to miss successive seasons in 2023 and 2024 due to injuries before he returned in 2025 to claim the purple cap after taking 25 wickets from 15 innings at an average of 19.52 and an economy of 8.27.

Over the past few years, Kishna has also broken into the Indian Test team and has had a few memorable performances in Sydney and the Oval, respectively. Krishna is expected to have another brilliant IPL season, having taken six wickets from three matches so far in IPL 2026.
