IPL 2026 Points Table

t20 74 Matches • 10 Teams

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 is ongoing in full swing, with ten franchises competing for the ultimate glory, culminating in the final on May 31. The season began with a thrilling opener between defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on March 28 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

The ten teams are divided into two groups of five. Each franchise will face teams from the opposite group twice and play once against teams within their own group, making a total of 14 league matches per team. The league stage consists of 70 matches, followed by four playoff games for the top four teams on the points table. Teams generally need to win at least eight games to secure a playoff spot, otherwise, their qualification depends on their Net Run Rate (NRR).

The playoffs follow a structured format. The top two teams compete in Qualifier 1, with the winner advancing directly to the final and the loser getting another chance in Qualifier 2. The third and fourth-placed teams face off in the Eliminator, where the winner progresses to Qualifier 2 and the loser exits the tournament. The Qualifier 2 winner then moves to the final to challenge the Qualifier 1 victor for the coveted IPL trophy.
