Shubman Gill made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut in 2018 after his heroics in India’s victorious campaign at the Under-19 World Cup. Having been picked up by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the auction, Gill had a decent first season in the tournament, scoring 203 runs from 11 innings at an average of 33.83 and a strike rate of 146.04.
The youngster continued to get better with every season as he followed it up with 296 runs in the following edition. Gill had his first major season in 2020, scoring 440 runs from 14 innings. He further accumulated 478 runs in 2021, playing a key role in KKR’s run to the final, where they lost to Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Gill was later acquired by Gujarat Titans(GT) for the 2022 edition, where he had another prolific season, scoring 483 runs and winning his maiden IPL title with GT. The year 2023 saw the best version of Shubman Gill as he etched his name in the record books, scoring the second-most runs in a single edition of IPL.
The right-handed batter scored a whopping 890 runs from 17 innings at an average of 59.33 and a strike rate of 157.80, registering three centuries and four fifties. Gill also won the Orange Cap award for the first time in his career as GT made it to their second successive final but lost to CSK in a thrilling summit clash.
In 2024, Gill was handed over the leadership of Gujarat, but the youngster had a tough time as his performance experienced a slight dip, and GT failed to make it to the playoffs for the first time. However, Gill was at his best all over again in 2025, scoring truck load of runs for his side and guiding them to the playoffs.
Gujarat lost in the Eliminator against Mumbai Indians (MI), but Gill proved his worth as a leader and was even handed over the captaincy duties of team India later in 2025. As Gill returns to the IPL, with his eyes set on winning the second title for Gujarat, here’s a look at his tournament's salary over the years:
