India’s teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been one of the rising stars in world cricket in recent times. Ever since being sold to Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction for INR 1.10 crore, Sooryavanshi has become a household name.

He etched his name in the history books, scoring the fastest century by an Indian in IPL history (35 balls) during his debut season, becoming the youngest centurion in T20 cricket.

The 15-year-old has been on a rampage in 2026, having starred in India’s under-19 World Cup triumph with a Player of the Tournament performance. He scored a breathtaking 175 (80) in the final against England and was deservedly adjudged Player of the Match in the team's 100-run win.

He also finished as the second-highest run scorer of the tournament with 439 runs from seven innings. Later, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi had a record-breaking Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026) campaign, becoming the youngest player ever to win the Orange Cap award for finishing as the leading run scorer of the tournament.

The southpaw hammered 776 runs from 16 innings at an average of 48.50 and a record strike rate of 237.30 with one hundred and five fifties to his name.

He also shattered the 14-year-old record of legendary batter Chris Gayle (59) for hitting the most sixes in a single IPL season, clobbering a whopping 72 maximums in the 2026 edition. His stellar IPL show also paved the way for an India debut, as Sooryavanshi became the youngest cricketer to play for the country in international cricket during the T20I series in England.

He even went on to slam his maiden international half-century in T20Is against Zimbabwe, becoming the youngest player to achieve the feat. Sooryavanshi has played six T20Is so far and scored 193 runs at an average of 32.16 with two fifties to his name.
