Yashasvi Jaiswal rose to the limelight, following his prolific run in the Under-19 World Cup 2020, where he played a pivotal role in India’s run to the final. Despite India failing to win the summit clash, Jaiswal won the Player of the Tournament for finishing as the leading run scorer of the tournament with 400 runs from six innings at an average of 133.33 with one hundred and four fifties to his name.
At the age of 17, he was picked up to play in the Indian Premier League by Rajasthan Royals (RR), who shelled out a whopping Rs 2.4 Crore to acquire him. The southpaw could manage just 40 runs from three outings in his debut season in 2020.

The southpaw continued to impress with his aggressive strokeplay, scoring 249 runs and 258 runs in the following two seasons in 2021 and 2022, respectively. However, it was the year 2023 when Jaiswal finally achieved the zenith of his IPL career, scoring a whopping 625 runs in 14 innings – the most in a single season by an uncapped player.
His prolific run opened the doors to the Indian team, and he made his Test and T20I debuts on the tour of the West Indies in July-August 2023. Jaiswal etched his name in the history books by scoring a century on his Test debut and even slammed a T20I hundred in the Asian Games the same year.
Since then, the southpaw hasn’t looked back, becoming a regular mainstay in the Indian Test side, having scored 2511 runs from 28 matches so far. On the other hand, he also has 723 runs from 22 innings in T20Is and also has an ODI century to his name.
As Jaiswal continues his rich form in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026), here’s a comparison of his IPL and BCCI contracts on monetary terms:
Being a part of the B category in the list of BCCI Central Contracts, Jaiswal earns Rs 3 crore per year, while he was retained for Rs 18 crore ahead of IPL 2026 by Rajasthan Royals, which remains his annual IPL salary.
