The Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026) has been a complete run-fest as batters have made every bowler’s nightmare come true with their unforgiving strokeplay. The ongoing season has already witnessed 1236 sixes till Match 64, along with 1975 fours.
While there has been no dearth of fireworks in the powerplay, the death overs have been equally high-scoring with batters flexing their muscles after being set at the crease.

Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Heinrich Klaasen emerges as the leading run scorer in death overs, being in sensational form in the ongoing season. Klaasen is the third-highest run scorer of the season with 555 runs from 13 innings at an average of 50.45 and a strike rate of 155.89 with five fifties to his name.
Out of his 555 runs, 181 have been scored in the death overs, making him a real headache for the opposition teams in the final stages of the innings. Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR’s) Rinku Singh finds himself on the second spot after finding his form midway through the season.
Known for his terrific finishing skills, Rinku has scored 286 runs in the ongoing season at an average of 71.50 and a strike rate of 148.95. Out of which, his 174 runs have come in the death overs as he’s been a vital cog in KKR’s resurgence after the initial setback.
Mumbai Indians’ Tilak Varma ranks on the third spot, having played a couple of match-winning knocks for his team. Varma has scored 154 runs in the death overs, making him rank amongst the top finishers of the season.
