In the 149-year history of cricket, there have been several top batters who’ve made a name for themselves through their remarkable performances on the pitch. These players earned plaudits for their sheer hunger for runs and scoring centuries one after the other throughout the course of their careers.

However, in the history of the game, there have also been a few players who’ve not scored centuries in their careers, but still gone on to score a plethora of runs from their willows. Here are three such players who are the highest run scorers without scoring a century:

3. Litton Das

The Bangladesh opener is one of the key players for his team across all three formats, being a consistent scorer over the years. While Litton Das has six hundreds in Tests and five in ODIs, he’s yet to touch the three-figure mark in T20Is. He has scored 2702 runs from 120 innings at an average of 23.49 and a strike rate of 126.79 with 16 fifties. Das has the highest score of 83 in T20Is against Ireland in Chattogram, 2023. He remains the highest run scorer in the shortest format without scoring a century.

2. Misbah Ul Haq

The former Pakistan captain was often the rescuer for his team, helping them recover from collapses on most occasions. Misbah was equally effective in all three formats, scoring many crucial runs for Pakistan over the years. While Misbah has ten centuries to his name in Tests, he could never touch the three-figure mark in ODIs.

He scored 5122 runs in the 50-over format at an average of 43.4 with 42 fifties to his name, having a highest score of 96* against West Indies at the Oval in 2013. He remains the leading run scorer in ODIs without scoring a single century.

1. Shane Warne

Apart from leaving batters befuddled with his spin variations, Warne also made valuable contributions for Australia with the bat. He scored 4172 runs in his international career, registering 13 fifties. Warne’s highest score remains 99, scored against New Zealand in Perth, 2001. The legendary wrist-spinner is the highest run scorer in Tests and also across formats without scoring a century.
