Chennai Super Kings (CSK) seem to have cracked their ideal overseas combination code. The previous result against Mumbai Indians suggests so.
Reuniting the spin duo of Noor Ahmad and Akeal Hosein bore fruit for Chennai. Hosein proved unstoppable against Mumbai Indians. He returned figures of 4/17 in four overs at just 4.20 runs per over. He received substantial support from left-arm wrist spinner, Noor, who bagged 2/24 at an economy rate of 6.00 per over. Together, these two can wreak havoc on pitches that even offer a hint of turn, like how the case was against Mumbai at Wankhede.

Pace bowling allrounder Jamie Overton has been fairly consistent in his returns and adds depth to CSK's batting. Overton brings a wealth of T20 experience, and that is adding to CSK's overall strength.
While Dewald Brevis is still searching for his mojo in IPL 2026, he can be as destructive as any other batter in the tournament once he finds rhythm. MS Dhoni, if he returns to full fitness, will add more tactical brilliance to the outfit.
On the other hand, Gujarat Titans have blown hot and cold this season. Glenn Phillips' underwhelming run forced them to include Jason Holder in their XI in the previous game against RCB. Their openers, Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill, need to go at the rate of knots in the powerplay to lay down a solid foundation for the batters to follow.
