IPL 2026: GT vs SRH, Match 56 at Narendra Modi Stadium – Stats & player battles to watch

With Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Mumbai Indians (MI) already eliminated from the race to the IPL 2026 playoffs, the battle is now between eight teams to secure four spots.

Gujarat Titans (GT) have shown amazing consistency, winning four out of their last five matches. They now prepare to host the No. 2-ranked side Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), in match 56 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Titans will fancy their chances against Sunrisers as they have beaten them on each of the last three occasions at Narendra Modi since 2023.

Titans have devised a fairly simple but effective strategy. One of Shubman Gill or Sai Sudharsan bats right till the end as they know their middle order is not sturdy enough. They can afford to do that as their bowling attack is among the best this season, if not the best.

Meanwhile, Sunrisers dusted themselves off by beating Punjab Kings (PBKS) by a comprehensive margin of 33 runs. They had suffered a blip against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at home as they had no answers to their spinners. They have to remain cautious as Titans also have a genius spinner in Rashid Khan, who has bagged the most wickets (13) in the middle overs this season.
