IND W vs PAK W Head-to-Head: T20I & Women's Asia Cup

The ACC Women’s Asia Cup 2026 brings arch‑rivals India and Pakistan together for the first time since their meeting at the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 at Edgbaston in Birmingham.

India, seven‑time champions, enter the fixture with a point to prove. Despite their dominance in the Asia Cup, their performances in the previous two editions of the T20 World Cup have been far from convincing.

In the 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, India lost to New Zealand by 58 runs and to Australia by nine runs, missing out on a semifinal berth. The 2026 edition followed a similar pattern: they were outclassed by South Africa by six wickets and again beaten by eventual champions Australia by the same margin, resulting in another group‑stage exit.

It was widely speculated that India’s early elimination from the recently concluded T20 World Cup would mark the end of Harmanpreet Kaur’s tenure as T20I captain. However, the selection committee has backed the veteran, and she now needs to deliver results to keep Smriti Mandhana waiting in the wings.

India have a favourable 14-3 head-to-head record in WT20Is against Pakistan. The Women in Blue have played seven games against Pakistan in Asia Cup T20Is, winning six and losing one.  India have also crossed swords with Pakistan in Asia Cup ODIs six times and won on every occasion.
