The Indian Premier League (IPL) has witnessed several jaw-dropping catches in its history, as many top athletes from around the world have set the tournament alight with their agility. T20 cricket demands the highest level of athleticism, and fielders have to hold on to the slimmest of chances to turn the game in their team’s favour.
The Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026) has again witnessed some incredible catches in the season, with teams putting immense focus on their fielding. With the margin of error set to get slimmer as the tournament heads into its business end, here’s a look at the top three teams with the highest catching efficiency in the season so far:

3. Rajasthan Royals (79%)
The Riyan Parag-led side got off to a great beginning to the season, winning four matches on the trot. However, their campaign has gone astray in the last seven fixtures as RR have only won two games. However, while the team has lacked at times in batting or bowling, they’ve been quite consistent in the field. Rajasthan have the third-best catching efficiency (79%) in the ongoing season, having taken 52 catches out of 66 that have come their way.
2. Gujarat Titans (80%)
Gujarat Titans are having an excellent campaign as they find themselves in the upper rungs of the IPL 2026 points table. The Shubman Gill-led side is placed second and is almost in the playoffs. One of the major reasons behind Gujarat’s success has been their excellent catching efficiency. They’re the second-best fielding side in the season, having a success rate of 80%, having grabbed 75 catches safely.
1. Kolkata Knight Riders (88%)
KKR had to endure a long victory drought at the beginning of the season as they couldn’t win their first six matches. However, they made a remarkable turnaround in the middle of the season, winning five out of their last six matches. KKR has been the best fielding side of the season, with 88% catch efficiency, having taken 56 catches and dropping just 8.
