The last time Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) met Gujarat Titans (GT), it was carnage. GT’s bowlers were taken apart, conceding a staggering 254 runs in 20 overs. The chase never took flight, and GT folded meekly for 162 in 19.3 overs, suffering a crushing 92‑run defeat in Qualifier 1.
Now, back at the comfort of their home ground, the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, GT’s bowlers have a chance to restore pride. Their record against RCB at this venue is mixed. In their first clash here on April 28, 2024, RCB romped home by nine wickets. The only other meeting at the ground came earlier this season, when GT successfully chased down 156 with four wickets in hand and 25 balls to spare.

GT, however, enter the final at a slight disadvantage. This will be their third straight game at a third different venue, having played Qualifier 1 in Dharamsala and Qualifier 2 in New Chandigarh before travelling to Ahmedabad. The relentless travel schedule has left them with little time to recover, while RCB arrive fresher and buoyed by momentum.
The stage is set for GT’s bowlers to prove that the mauling in Qualifier 1 was an aberration, not a trend. With the IPL 2026 title on the line, redemption could not come at a bigger moment.
