LSG snap home hoodoo to avoid Delhi's embarrassing IPL streak

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) saved themselves from equaling an unwanted record as they beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by nine runs (DLS) in match No. 50 of the ongoing IPL 2026 season.
LSG were on an eight-match losing streak at home (Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium). The defeat against RCB would have made LSG equal Delhi's record for the most successive losses at home in the Indian Premier League.
Delhi lost nine games on the bounce between 2013-15 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium before registering a win in their 10th attempt.
Before the victory against RCB on Thursday, LSG's last win at home had come on April 12, 2025. They had defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) by six wickets. LSG had lost all of their previous four encounters at home before taking on RCB in match 50 of IPL 2026.
