The excitement for the Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026) final is at its highest as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are all set to take on Gujarat Titans (GT) in the summit clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. It’s an adage in cricket that batters win you games, but bowlers win you tournaments.

The statement holds even today, as the IPL 2026 most wickets list is dominated by RCB and GT bowlers. Kagiso Rabada is the leading wicket-taker of the season so far with 28 scalps from 16 innings, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar takes the second spot with 26 wickets from 15 innings.

Apart from them, Mohammed Siraj (GT), Rashid Khan (GT), Jason Holder (GT) and Rasikh Salam Dar (RCB) also find themselves in the list for the top ten highest wicket takers of the season. Hence, both sides have wicket-taking options in abundance heading into the final, who can come to their team’s rescue at different stages of the game.

The finals often bring out the best from top players, who leave no stone unturned to help their side lift the trophy. In the history of IPL finals, several top bowlers have risen to the occasion to help their team finish on the podium. Former all-rounder Dwayne Bravo holds the record for most wickets taken in the history of IPL finals, having scalped ten wickets from seven innings.

Bravo’s best performance came during the 2013 final against Mumbai Indians (MI), where his four-wicket haul (4/42) helped Chennai Super Kings restrict MI to 148/9. Despite his stellar show with the ball, he ended up on the losing side.
