Rajasthan Royals have encountered a snag at the worst possible juncture, and their Indian Premier League 2026 playoff hopes are alive by a very slim margin, controlled by external forces. They were shoddy in the field on May 17, in the 62nd game of the league, when they lost to Delhi Capitals by five wickets. They have now completed a hat-trick of losses and seem to be running out of steam.

Skipper Riyan Parag was fairly critical of the team's fielding while he himself looked sloppy. Rajasthan were so substandard on the field that it even made Kumar Sangakkara, their head coach and director of cricket, lose his cool in the dugout.
