The tenth edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup has got underway as 12 teams are fighting among themselves to grab hold of the coveted trophy. Over the course of nine editions of the tournament, several big names have graced the field with their presence and earned plaudits for their remarkable performances.
Players have even etched their names in the history books by creating numerous records at the T20 World Cup. While some records might be broken soon, surpassing the others will require a herculean effort in the coming years. Here are four such records in the Women's T20 World Cup that seem unbreakable:

1. Fastest century
Deandra Dottin etched her name in the history books, scoring the fastest century in Women’s T20Is in 2010. She achieved the landmark during the 2010 edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup against South Africa, completing her hundred in just 38 balls. She remained unbeaten on 112* (45) and took home the Player of the Match award in her team’s 17-run victory.
The record stands even after 16 years, which is astounding, especially given how far the T20I game has moved since then. Dottin's record is likely to remain untouched in the coming years.
2. Most Fours
New Zealand’s Suzie Bates and Australia’s Alyssa Healy jointly hold the record for most fours (132) in the history of the Women’s T20 World Cup. The next best by an active player is 95, held by Sri Lanka’s Chamari Athapaththu. With the Sri Lanka skipper also in the twilight of her career, the record is likely to stand for a few more years.
3. Most titles won as a captain
Legendary Australia captain Meg Lanning took her team to unprecedented heights under her leadership, guiding them to four T20 World Cup titles in 2014, 2018, 2020 and 2023. Apart from her, no other captain has won the trophy multiple times. Given how volatile captaincy positions are in most cricketing nations, breaking Lanning’s record seems too far-fetched a dream for any captain.
4. Most dismissals by a wicketkeeper
Legendary Australia wicketkeeper Alyssa Healy holds the record for most dismissals in Women’s T20 World Cup history. Healy inflicted 32 dismissals in 37 innings after playing in eight editions of the tournament. The next best on the list among active players in England’s Amy Jones with 16 dismissals. With her being 33, it would remain a herculean task for her to surpass her feat, and Healy is likely to hold the record in coming years.
