Yashasvi Jaiswal is one of India’s most undisputed talents. Now an all-format player, Jaiswal has displayed his repertoire and fearless spirit since his under-19 days.

Jaiswal moved from the hinterlands of Uttar Pradesh to Mumbai in pursuit of fuelling his cricketing dreams. Unable to make ends meet, he slept in tents and sold pani puri before catching the eye of Jwala Singh, a local coach, while playing at Azad Maidan.

Jaiswal combined relentless hard work, indomitable spirit and an excellent work ethic to shape himself as the professional he is today. His appetite for mammoth scores was manifest right from the onset. He amassed truckloads of runs in the 2019 Vijay Hazare Trophy and then served as India’s batting pivot in the Under-19 World Cup in South Africa, finishing as the Player of the Tournament in India’s runners-up finish.

His consistent run in India’s domestic circuit opened the doors of IPL, as he was snapped by Rajasthan Royals for INR 2.4 crore. The countless hours in the nets and on the field gradually compounded, and Jaiswal reaped more fruits of his toil, registering a hat-trick of centuries for Mumbai in his first full Ranji Trophy season in 2021-22.

Jaiswal continued honing his skills at the Royals academy and slowly but surely carved a niche in the IPL as well, forming a prolific opening combination in 2022 with Jos Buttler, a bona fide legend in the shortest format. The following year, Jaiswal smashed a 13-ball half-century against Kolkata Knight Riders to come on his own. He also became IPL’s then-youngest centurion at 21 years and 123 days, hitting 124 against Mumbai Indians.

Jaiswal finished the 2023 season as the fifth-highest run-getter with 625 runs, and followed that with a 435-run season in 2024. His performance inspired confidence in RR, who retained him for INR 18 crore ahead of IPL 2025. The youngster repaid the faith, tallying 559 runs to finish as RR's highest run-getter and the seventh overall. The franchise retained him for the same price for IPL 2026
