Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is on a record‑breaking spree, and Zimbabwe found themselves at the receiving end of his brilliance on Thursday at the Harare Sports Club as he unleashed his fury.

Sooryavanshi smashed an 18‑ball fifty to help India chase down Zimbabwe’s target with 40 balls and seven wickets to spare. At just 15 years and 118 days, the southpaw became the youngest Indian to score a fifty in international cricket and in T20Is.

Before Sooryavanshi’s whirlwind knock against the Chevrons, the record for being the youngest Indian to register a men’s international fifty belonged to Sachin Tendulkar. Tendulkar was 16 years and 213 days old when he scored his first half‑century in international cricket, during a Test match against Pakistan in Faisalabad in 1989.

In men’s T20Is, the record previously belonged to Rohit Sharma, who scored a half‑century against South Africa in Durban during the ICC World Twenty20 in 2007 at the age of 20 years and 143 days.
