Prashant Veer and Kartik Sharma enjoyed a red-letter day at the IPL mini auction 2026 in Abu Dhabi on December 16 as they emerged as the most expensive uncapped players in the history of the marquee tournament. The duo shattered Avesh Khan's record, who was procured by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for INR 10 crore.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bought both players by paying INR 14.20 crore each. Prashant came into the spotlight while playing in the UP T20 League for Noida Super Kings. A slow left-arm orthodox bowler by craft, Prashant can be groomed as a successor to Ravindra Jadeja, who CSK have traded out to Rajasthan Royals (RR). Prashant's impressive outing in the trials for CSK did the trick for him at the auction.
