Representing one's country at the international level is every player's dream, as they give their sweat and blood in pursuit of it. While it's extremely tough for players to break into the national team, some families have had the privilege of seeing two members playing alongside each other at the highest level.

In international cricket, there have been a few brother duos who’ve left an indelible mark on their nation's cricketing history with their invaluable contribution. Here are three brother duos who played for the same country in international cricket:

1. Yusuf and Irfan Pathan

The Pathan brothers were key members of the Indian team in the late 2000s. They played their first match together during the T20 World Cup 2007 final, where Irfan Pathan was adjudged Player of the Match in India’s victory over Pakistan. The duo was also involved in a memorable match-winning partnership during a T20I against Sri Lanka in 2008 that guided India to a thrilling win in Colombo. Yusuf was also a part of India's 2011 World Cup triumph, while Irfan was a member of the 2013 Champions Trophy winning team as well.

2. Steve and Mark Waugh

The Waugh brothers were the pillars of the Australian team in the 90s, playing a key role in making it the most dominant side in the world. Steve became the most successful Test captain for Australia, also guiding them to the 1999 World Cup win. On the other hand, Mark Waugh scored over 8000 runs in both Tests and ODIs and also set the World record for most catches by a player in Tests.

3. Hardik and Krunal Pandya

Hardik and Krunal Pandya are the most famous brother duo in modern-day cricket. The Pandya brothers rose from humble beginnings to first make a name for themselves in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and later at the international level.

Hardik Pandya made his debut in 2016 and has become a key member of the white-ball squads ever since. On the other hand, Krunal made his debut in 2018 but could never cement his place in the team. However, he recently guided Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to back-to-back IPL triumphs with his sensational bowling performances.
