The last few weeks have probably been the toughest for Team India in the white‑ball formats in recent memory. The resumption of international action after a two‑month IPL has been downright disappointing. What began with a 2‑0 series loss against Ireland turned into a 4‑0 defeat and a 2‑1 loss against England across both white‑ball formats.

What has compounded their misery is the number of first‑choice players currently nursing injuries and undergoing rehab at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) instead of wreaking havoc on the field.

Here is the complete list of India players currently out of action and the nature of their injuries:

#1 Jasprit Bumrah

India’s pace spearhead was given a break from the Ireland and England T20Is after playing four months of relentless cricket in the T20 World Cup and IPL. Bumrah returned during the England ODIs but was ruled out of the series decider at Lord’s with a knee injury sustained in the field during the 2nd ODI at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff.

#2 Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya was initially named in India’s squad for the home ODIs against Afghanistan but missed the series after suffering a leg strain while training at the CoE in Bengaluru. He also missed multiple IPL matches for Mumbai Indians due to back spasms.

#3 Riyan Parag

Riyan Parag was named in India A’s squad for the 50‑over tri‑series in Sri Lanka but was ruled out with a hamstring injury. He later underwent right‑shoulder surgery in June and is currently in rehab.

#4 Nitish Kumar Reddy

Nitish Reddy was ruled out of the Ireland and England tours with a left quadriceps injury, aggravated during the third ODI against Afghanistan in Chennai. He is undergoing rehab at the CoE.

#5 Washington Sundar

Washington Sundar sustained a right hamstring injury during the second ODI against England in Cardiff and missed the decider at Lord’s. He is racing against time to regain fitness before the two‑match Test series against Sri Lanka starting August 15.

#6 Harshit Rana

Harshit Rana injured his hamstring in the third T20I against England at Trent Bridge and was ruled out for the remainder of the tour. He had already missed the T20 World Cup with a knee injury that required surgery and kept him out of the IPL.

#7 Varun Chakravarthy

The mystery spinner suffered a Grade II hamstring injury in the same match as Rana and was subsequently ruled out of the Zimbabwe tour. Varun also sustained a foot injury while representing Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL.

#8 Akash Deep

Akash Deep missed the IPL for KKR due to a lower‑back stress injury and is currently completing his rehab at the CoE.

#9 Prince Yadav

India’s latest pace‑bowling addition pulled his hamstring during the second T20I against Zimbabwe on July 25 at Harare Sports Club. Prince became the newest injury concern for Team India and was replaced by Ashok Sharma in the playing XI for the third T20I.
