With only a few months left for the IPL 2027 auction, all ten franchises are relying heavily on their scouting networks to identify emerging talent from T20 competitions across India. Player scouting plays an integral role in shaping IPL success, and no team wants to miss out on a rising star.

The recently concluded Sher‑E‑Punjab T20 League, held from August 30 to September 13, provided a vibrant platform for players hoping to enhance their credentials ahead of the auction. The tournament featured six teams: Amritsar Soormas, Mohali Kings, Bathinda Royals, Ludhiana Lions, Jalandhar Warriors and Fazilka Falcons. Amritsar Soormas defeated Ludhiana Lions by eight wickets in the final.

The league produced standout performances across disciplines. Here are three players who showcased exceptional skill and could attract interest at the forthcoming IPL auction.

#3 Uday Saharan (Bathinda Royals)

Uday Saharan was in superb touch throughout the Sher‑E‑Punjab T20 League 2026. The right‑hander amassed 351 runs in six matches at an outstanding average of 70.20 and a strike rate of 192.86. He struck 28 fours and 27 sixes, often injecting crucial momentum during the middle overs.

Saharan famously led India to the final of the ICC Men’s U19 World Cup in 2024 in South Africa, where they finished runners‑up to Australia. He has not yet secured an IPL contract, but his performances this season may have opened a significant opportunity.

#2 Kartik Chadha (Ludhiana Lions)

Kartik Chadha delivered a phenomenal season with the ball. The leg‑spinner claimed 14 wickets in 10 matches, bowling 39 overs at an average of 18.00. He also registered a four‑wicket haul. Kartik finished with the best economy rate (6.46) among bowlers who took more than eight wickets in the tournament.

He has already been on the radar of IPL teams, having served as a net bowler for Chennai Super Kings during the IPL 2025 season.

#1 Sahil Bhaskar (Ludhiana Lions)

Sahil Bhaskar, Kartik’s teammate at Ludhiana Lions, finished as the tournament’s leading wicket‑taker with 20 scalps. The right‑arm pacer bowled 32 overs at an average of 14.80 and an economy rate of 9.60. He was the only bowler to claim a five‑wicket haul in the competition.

Sahil is likely to draw attention from multiple franchises and could attract strong bids at the IPL auction. He has been involved with Lucknow Super Giants as a net bowler for the past two seasons.
