ACC Men's Premier Cup: Adeeb Usmani, bowlers guide UAE to 92-run win over Qatar

United Arab Emirates (UAE) got their campaign off to a winning start in the ACC Men’s Premier Cup 2026, beating Qatar by 92 runs in Match 3 on Monday, August 31 at Bayuemas Oval, Kuala Lumpur. After opting to bat first, UAE scored 263/9 in their allotted 50 overs, riding on a splendid innings from Adeeb Usmani (92 off 106).
On the other hand, Aayan Afzal Khan (41 off 24) and Sohaib Khan (41 off 38) also made valuable contributions. In reply, Qatar were bundled out for 171 in 37.3 overs with Haider Ali (2/25, 8 overs) and Khuzaima Tanveer (2/36) taking two wickets each.
Earlier, UAE lost Aryansh Sharma (3 off 7) early, who had his stumps dismantled by Ikramullah Khan (1/10). However, Adeeb Usmani held one end to keep the scoreboard moving. He added 47 runs for the second wicket alongside Muhammad Shahzad (14).
However, Qatar once again clawed back into the game, removing Shahzad (14 off 25), captain Harpreet Singh Bhatia (1 off 7) and Rahul Chopra (18 off 42) cheaply, leaving UAE on 98/4 after 24.1 overs. Usmani continued to hold the innings together, completing his half-century off 52 balls.
He again added 60 runs for the fifth wicket alongside Akshdeep Nath (24 off 43), before falling short of his century, losing his wicket to Owais Ahmed (2/44). Later, a 72-run stand off 46 balls between Sohaib Khan (41 off 38) and Aayan Afzal Khan (41 off 24) propelled UAE’s score past 260.

In reply, Qatar lost Zeeshan Haider (17 off 25) early, before Zubair Ali (47 off 70) and Imal Liyanage (70 off 82), kept their team in the hunt with a 62-run second-wicket stand off 85 balls. However, Khuzaima Tanveer brought UAE back into the game, removing Zubair Ali and Muhammad Asim (4 off 2) within a space of three deliveries.
Qatar could never really recover after that and suffered a dramatic collapse, losing their last nine wickets for 71 runs. As a result, they suffered a massive defeat, handing a comprehensive win to UAE. Adeeb Usmani was deservedly adjudged Player of the Match for his stellar innings of 92 (106).
