Australia women's tour of South Africa postponed due to Women's Champions Trophy

Australia women's maiden bilateral tour of South Africa was postponed due to the inaugural edition of the ICC Women's Champions Trophy. The global event was initially slated to be held in Sri Lanka, but the ICC stripped the island nation of the hosting rights due to continued government interference in Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC).

The tournament will now be held in India from February 14 to 28. The six-team competition will be staged at the Cricket Club of India in Mumbai and the Vadodara International Cricket Stadium in Vadodara.

Meanwhile, Australia's tour of South Africa will comprise three T20Is, three ODIs, and a one-off Test. The T20I series will begin with the opening match at Kimberley Oval on March 24. The second and third fixtures will be played at Willowmoore Park in Benoni and NWC Oval in Potchefstroom, respectively.

The first and second ODIs will be held at Kingsmead in Durban and Boland Park in Paarl, while the final 50-over match will take place at St George's Park in Gqeberha.

Buffalo Park Cricket Stadium in KuGompo City will host the one-off Test from April 15 to 18.

"Hosting a heralded team like Australia will always be a special occasion, let alone doing so for the first time," Cricket South Africa CEO Pholetsi Moseki said. "We are very appreciative of the work put in by both Cricket South Africa and Cricket Australia to ensure the tour's new dates were confirmed following the scheduling of the ICC Women's Champions Trophy."
