Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) increased the salary and match fees for women’s domestic cricketers as well as the men’s domestic first-class cricketers on Thursday, April 9. The decision has been made by the Tamim Iqbal-led ad-hoc committee, which took charge of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) recently.
Bangladesh domestic women’s cricketers previously earned a match fee of BDT 5,000 for T20 and One Day competitions, which has now increased two-fold and a three-fold, respectively. Players will now earn BDT 10,000 for T20 competitions, while for the One Day competitions, it has been revised to BDT 15,000. For first-class matches, the new match fees will be BDT 20,000.

On the other hand, the women’s domestic cricketers will also see a rise in their salaries from BDT 30,000 to BDT 40,000.
Grade B players, who previously got BDT 30,000, will now get BDT 50,000, while Grade C players will see an increase from BDT 25000 to BDT 40000.
Players deserve fair compensation for their hard work: Tamim Iqbal
"There has been little increment in the past three to four years. I think the players were highly underpaid in the previous salary structure. These players work hard, and cricket exists because of their efforts. At the very least, they deserve fair compensation,” Iqbal was quoted as saying by ESPNCricinfo.
The new monthly salary will be effective from January 1, 2026, for both men and women players. The eleven members in the ad-hoc committee have also been defined roles by the BCB as they look to solve the stalemate between club teams and the cricket board to organise Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League soon.
