David Warner's lawyer, Bobby Hill, has labelled his client's decision to drink-drive a "foolish" and a "reckless decision." The former Australia batter allegedly enjoyed a few glasses of wine at a friend's apartment on Easter Sunday (April 5) while he was enjoying a break from his captaincy duties for Karachi Kings (KK) in the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The southpaw returned a positive result after he was pulled over for a roadside test in Sydney's east, per the police. It is alleged that the Sydney Thunder captain blew 0.104 (more than double the permissible blood alcohol limit) when he was asked to follow the officials to the Maroubra Police Station for another test.

Warner was subsequently charged with mid-range drink driving. However, he wasn't needed to show up at the Waverley Local Court on May 7 when his matter was up for hearing and was quickly adjourned. Though the 39-year-old has not entered a plea, his lawyer, Hill, foreshadowed a guilty plea at a later date.
Hill spoke about the entire saga to a bunch of reporters present outside the Waverley Local Court and admitted that Warner could have booked an Uber ride to avoid the fiasco.
"He knows what he did was wrong. He accepts that was a reckless decision, a foolish decision to get in his car instead of taking an Uber," Hill was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.
"It's not a crime to have a glass of wine on the day of the lord's resurrection. In fact, some would consider that completely appropriate," Hill added.
"His crime is, as I said, choosing a foolish plan A instead of a plan B."
Hill said that his client is apologetic about the whole incident and wanted to put it behind him.
"This case before the court is a reminder to everyone in the public about the dangers of self-assessments," Hill said.
"I know David is looking forward to putting this matter behind him and focusing his efforts on re-contributing to those people in the community".
