The Delhi Premier League 2026 (DPL 2026) is all set to begin on Friday, July 31, with Central Delhi Kings and Purani Dilli 6 locking horns in the season opener at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. It will be the third season of the premier domestic T20 competition organised by the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA).
The DPL took everyone by storm in its inaugural season in 2024 as it gave a platform to several unknown talents to showcase their skills and rise to the limelight with their stupendous performances. The inaugural season is best remembered for Priyansh Arya hitting six consecutive sixes in an over, playing for South Delhi Superstarz against North Delhi Strikers spinner Manan Bharadwaj.
Arya emerged as the most talked-about player of the maiden edition, finishing as the highest run scorer with 608 runs to his name. His performances also helped him earn his maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) contract with Punjab Kings (PBKS).
However, despite his prolific run, South Delhi Superstarz fell short in the final, losing to East Delhi Riders by three runs, who were crowned inaugural champions of the Delhi Premier League.
The second season of the DPL in 2025 brought with it more thrill as players set new benchmarks with their remarkable on-field performances. Players like Arpit Rana, Sarthak Ranjan, Tejasvi Dahiya, Mayank Rawat and many others became household names with their stellar performances.
The second edition also saw teams breaking new barriers in terms of run-scoring as South Delhi Superstarz ridiculously chased down 134 in just 6.5 overs in a rain-curtailed seven-over match.
In the end, captain Nitish Rana led West Delhi Lions to a title triumph, leading from the front with a match-winning innings of 79* (49). Here’s the complete list of winners of the Delhi Premier League so far:
