East Zone snap 5068-day drought to clinch third Duleep Trophy title

East Zone have snapped a 5068‑day drought to clinch their third Duleep Trophy title, securing the win by virtue of a first‑innings lead of 372 runs over South Zone. Led by Ishan Kishan, East Zone piled up a mammoth 708 in their first innings before bowling South Zone out for 336.

They continued their dominant batting display in the second innings, declaring at 388 for seven, after which the match ended in a stalemate.

Ishan was the standout performer, producing a superb double hundred in the first innings and following it up with an 80 in the second. The East Zone captain was named Player of the Match.

South Zone skipper Tilak Varma claimed the Player of the Series award for his consistently brilliant performances. He scored 116* and 51* in the semifinal against North Zone and played a defiant knock of 99 in the final.
