England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced their squads for the upcoming home white-ball series against Sri Lanka, including three T20Is and as many ODIs. Opening batter Aneurin Donald has earned his maiden England call-up for the T20I series, while fast bowler Henry Crocombe has been named in the ODI squad.
Jamie Overton also returns to both squads after missing the white-ball series against India due to a thigh injury. However, Philip Salt is unavailable due to a right quad injury. Jacob Bethell also underwent successful surgery on his injured knee and is undergoing rehabilitation, and wasn’t picked.
All-rounder Sam Curran is also on the sidelines after he had surgery for his groin injury. Meanwhile, Tom Banton and Will Jacks mark their returns after recovering from their recent injuries.
Gus Atkinson and Ben Duckett have also been recalled into the T20I squad after impressive performances in the Hundred, while Rehan Ahmed and Luke Wood have been dropped.

29-year-old Aneurin McDonald boasts a strike rate of 214 in T20 cricket for Derbyshire and caught England white-ball coach Brendon McCullum's attention after top-scoring for Trent Rockets in the recent Hundred final, playing an innings of 38 off 19.
T20I series begins on September 15
On the other hand, Henry Crocombe has taken hat-tricks in successive County Championship matches for Sussex and was earlier briefly called up to England's Test squad in June. The three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka begins on September 15, while the ODI series begins on September 22.
