England have announced their squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against India, beginning on July 1. Harry Brook will continue to lead the 17-member squad, where uncapped all-rounder James Coles has received his maiden call-up to the England side.
Coles has amassed 1,373 runs from 61 T20 innings at an average of 28.60 and an impressive strike rate of 146.37, including seven half-centuries. The 21-year-old all-rounder has also claimed 53 wickets at an average of 26.94 with an economy rate of 8.27, registering three four-wicket hauls.

England men’s national Selector, Marcus North, called Coles an exciting addition to the squad and also revealed that they’ve selected a large squad, since the T20I series begins right after the three-match Test series against New Zealand.
“James Coles is an exciting addition and has earned his place following his performances with the England Lions and in T20 competitions here and abroad during the past 12 months. We have selected a larger squad to accommodate for the fact that this series will begin shortly after the Test series against New Zealand is due to conclude, which allows us to be flexible,” said North in a media release.
