Former India U19 cricketer Amanpreet Singh Gill passed away at the age of 36 in Chandigarh on Wednesday. Amanpreet played alongside Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja during age-group cricket and also rubbed shoulders with Yuvraj Singh in the domestic circuit.
He played several Youth ODIs and toured alongside Kohli and Co. to England, Sri Lanka and Malaysia, but wasn't included in India's squad for the ICC Men's U19 World Cup in 2008.

A right-arm medium pacer, Amanpreet, played six first-class matches for Punjab. He snared 11 scalps with the best bowling figures of 4/72. He was also a part of the Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) set-up during the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008.
All the Punjab Kings players wore black armbands in match No. 49 of the ongoing Indian Premier League against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on May 6 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, as a mark of respect and to mourn the tragic loss.
At the time of death, Amanpreet was rendering his services to the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) as a member of the Senior Selection Committee.
