After an impressive debut for Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026) against Punjab Kings (PBKS), Ashok Sharma continued to impress with his fiery bowling in their second fixture as well. The 23-year-old registered the fastest ball of the season during Match 9 on Saturday, April 4 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Sharma clocked 154.2 kmph on the speedometer during the 16th over of the innings, in which he also scalped the big wicket of Shimron Hetmyer. He surpassed Lucknow Super Giants’ Anrich Nortje’s feat, who clocked 150.9 kph during Match 5 of the season against Delhi Capitals (DC).

Sharma didn’t have a great beginning to the match as he was slammed for 13 runs in his first over by Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.
However, he made a good comeback in his second over, giving away just five runs. He further gave away just six runs in his third, hitting consistently over 145 kmph, where he eventually bowled the fastest ball on the last ball of the over. He eventually finished with figures of 1/37 in four overs.
Rajasthan scores 210 in Ahmedabad
Earlier, he registered figures of 1/31 in three overs against Punjab Kings (PBKS), during his team’s three-wicket loss. Meanwhile, Rajasthan posted a massive score of 210/6 in their allotted 20 overs, riding on splendid knocks from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel.
Rajasthan once again got off to a great start, as Vaibhav Sooryavanshi (31 off 18) and Jaiswal (55 off 36) added 70 runs for the first wicket off 38 balls. Following their dismissals, Jurel held the innings together with his magnificent knock, scoring 75 off 42 balls with the help of five fours and as many sixes. For Gujarat, Kagiso Rabada emerged as the pick of the bowlers as he scalped 2/42 in four overs.
