The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have announced a change in the Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026) schedule, with the venues of both the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) vs Gujarat Titans (GT) fixtures set to be changed.
The first fixture between the two teams, scheduled to be played on April 26, 2026, in Ahmedabad, will now be held at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, with no change in timings (3:30 pm IST).

On the other hand, the second fixture between the two teams, scheduled to be played on May 21, will now be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, set to begin at 7:30 PM IST.

The change was made in view of the municipal corporation elections in Ahmedabad and other parts of Gujarat scheduled on April 26, 2026, informed BCCI in a media release.
Both CSK and GT have played four matches so far, while Gujarat have won two out of their four fixtures, CSK have only won one game so far in the season. Gujarat started their campaign with back-to-back losses against Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Rajasthan Royals (RR).
CSK register first win of IPL 2026
But, made a brilliant comeback by winning successive games against Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). On the other hand, CSK lost their first three matches against Rajasthan Royals (RR), Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
However, they finally tasted their first victory of the season against the Delhi Capitals by 23 runs. Sanju Samson was adjudged Player of the Match for his splendid century (115* off 56). Meanwhile, both CSK and GT have faced each other eight times in IPL history, and have won four matches each. They locked horns just once in IPL 2025, where CSK convincingly beat Gujarat by 63 runs in Ahmedabad.
