IPL 2026: Cameron Green regains bowling fitness, Sunil Narine fit to return vs LSG

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have got a major boost ahead of their upcoming fixture of the Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026) against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) as all-rounder Sunil Narine has regained fitness and will be available for the game. On the other hand, Cameron Green might also be seen bowling for the first time in the tournament.

Narine missed the last fixture against Punjab Kings (PBKS) due to illness but had resumed practice on Tuesday, April 7, two days ahead of the fixture and is set to return to the playing XI against LSG. Meanwhile, Green might be seen bowling for the first time in the tournament in the upcoming game.

There has been massive controversy around Green not bowling in the ongoing season of the IPL as KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane also seemed irritated by the fact in the post-match interview after their opening game against Mumbai Indians (MI).

Rahane’s comments led to Cricket Australia (CA) issuing a clarification on Green’s bowling availability, revealing the all-rounder has been recovering from a lower-back injury, which forced him to abstain from bowling for a short period.

However, he’s set to be available to roll his arm over against Lucknow Super Giants, which comes as a major boost for KKR, who desperately need his services with their bowling attack affected by injuries. Moreover, it will also give another department for Green to contribute to the team’s cause, as his bat has been quiet in the first three games, having scored just 24 runs so far.

Chakravarthy yet to recover from injury

Meanwhile, Varun Chakravarthy will remain unavailable for KKR after he missed the last game due to an injury. He hurt his hand while fielding against Sunrisers Hyderabad and was seen with a taping across his left hand in the dugout during the fixture in the last game.

He was reportedly seen with the taping during his team’s practice session as well and is likely to sit out for a few more matches. KKR are still searching for the first win of the season, after losing two games and facing a washout in the third game.
