After much anticipation, the Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026) has finally got underway, and all ten teams have played at least one match each so far. While the tournament has already given fans several thrilling moments, there have also been several code of conduct breaches in the ongoing season, owing to slow over rate or disciplinary issues.
Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer faced the first code-of-conduct charge of the season, as the match referee fined him for maintaining a slow over rate during Match 4 against the Gujarat Titans (GT). Later, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batter Abhishek Sharma was fined 25% of his match fee for reportedly showing dissent at the umpire’s decision during Match 6 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

Iyer was again fined for the slow over rate during Punjab’s second fixture against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). However, this time, along with him, his entire playing XI and the Impact Player were also fined.
