Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Tim David finds himself in a precarious position as he's been fined 30% of his match fee and also accumulated two demerit points for breaching Level 1 of IPL’s Code of Conduct for Players and Team officials. David was found breaching Article 2.6 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which relates to using a gesture that is obscene, offensive or insulting.
The incident took place during Match 54 of the Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026) between RCB and Mumbai Indians at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, Raipur. He admitted to the offence and accepted the sanction imposed by Match Referee Amit Sharma. The sanctions imposed have put David in a volatile situation, as another demerit point will lead to suspension for one match for the RCB batter.
