South Africa batter Rilee Rossouw has made a bizarre comparison between Pakistan Super League (PSL) and the Indian Premier League (IPL), calling the latter more of a movie than actual cricket. Rossouw is currently a part of the PSL, playing for Quetta Gladiators and has also plied his trade for four seasons in the IPL.

However, the Proteas batter feels that the level of competition in the PSL is a lot more fierce than IPL. In a viral video, he also called out the heavy presence of Bollywood actors in the Indian league.

“Both leagues have their pros and cons. IPL is a very long tournament, and PSL is a much more compact tournament where the competition is a lot more fierce. IPL obviously has the whole Bollywood behind it, so it's a lot more of a movie than actual cricket,” Rossouw said in a viral video.

Rossouw made his IPL debut in 2014, playing for Royal Challengers Bengaluru(RCB) for his first two seasons. He returned to the league in 2023, playing for Delhi Capitals before being acquired by Punjab Kings for the 2024 season. The southpaw has scored 209 runs in his IPL career from nine innings at an average of 29.85 and a strike rate of 153.57 with two half-centuries.

On the other hand, he made his PSL debut during the second season of the league in 2017 and has been involved in the tournament ever since. Rossouw has played nine matches in his PSL career and scored 2366 runs at an average of 31.54 and a strike rate of 144.70 with three hundreds and 11 fifties.

He was recently adjudged Player of the Match in Quetta Gladiators’ victory over Rawalpindiz for scoring a half-century.
