West Indies have announced their squad for the three‑match T20I series against Sri Lanka at home, with several notable omissions and fresh faces included.
Jayden Seales, Johnson Charles and Quentin Sampson have been dropped from the 15‑member squad. In their place, the selectors have recalled Shamar Springer, Jewel Andrew and Ackeem Auguste. Springer has featured in six T20Is, Andrew in five, while Auguste has nine caps to his name.

Another big name missing is Alzarri Joseph, who has been rested to manage his workload. Alzarri will continue training and preparing for the upcoming two‑match Test series against Sri Lanka in Antigua.
Right‑arm pacer Shamar Joseph, who had to leave the ODI squad earlier due to personal reasons, is expected to be available for selection in the T20I series.
Sammy’s focus on growth
Head coach Daren Sammy is aware that the current group is still developing and not yet a world‑beating side. He stressed the importance of building on the team’s performance at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, where West Indies impressed with their "passion and fight".
"This series is an important one for us as it’s our first since the World Cup in India, where the team played with passion, fight and the togetherness that West Indies cricket is built on. Our focus now is to build on those foundations, continue growing as a team and make our fans proud with the way we compete against Sri Lanka," Sammy said in a press release issued by Cricket West Indies.
