Mumbai Indians' batting coach, Kieron Pollard, has been fined 15% of his applicable match fee for breaching Level 1 of the IPL's Code of Conduct for Players and Team Officials.
The 39-year-old was found guilty of breaching Article 2.3 of the IPL's Code of Conduct, about the “use of an audible obscenity during a match.” The incident unfolded during the 19th over of Mumbai Indians' chase against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in match No. 58 when Pollard "used abusive language towards the fourth umpire." Notably, the fourth umpire for the game was Parashar Joshi.

The former middle-order batter has also accumulated one demerit point as a result of the incident. He has, however, admitted to the offence and accepted the fine imposed by the match referee, Pankaj Dharmani.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians (MI), who were playing for pride, came out victorious in the end after having been set a total of 201 in 20 overs by the hosts, Punjab, at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium (HPCA) in Dharamsala.
Mumbai got off to a steady start after Ryan Rickelton (48 off 23) injected momentum early on in the innings. He added 61 runs for the opening wicket alongside Rohit Sharma (25 off 26). Punjab pulled things back to an extent after they dismissed Rickelton, Rohit and Naman Dhir within a span of 14 deliveries.
However, Tilak Varma (75* off 33) and Will Jacks (25* off 10) took Mumbai over the line with six wickets and a ball to spare in the end. Tilak was impressive yet again as he smashed six fours and as many sixes in his innings and batted at a strike rate of 227.27.
Jacks also pummeled two fours and as many sixes, batting at a strike rate of 250.00. It has helped Mumbai salvage some of its pride as they now have four wins in the season, after being knocked out of the competition earlier.
