Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) named the ends of the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru in honour of former India cricketers Rahul Dravid and Anil Kumble on Sunday, April 5. The legendary duo was felicitated during a special ceremony ahead of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) vs Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Match 11 of the Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026).
In a video shared by IPL’s social media handles, Dravid and Kumble were seen unveiling their respective ends in the presence of their family members and KSCA President Venkatesh Prasad. The duo was also presented with special certificates during the ceremony as a tribute to their contributions to Karnataka and Indian cricket.

“A fitting tribute to two of India's finest cricketing stalwarts. The M Chinnaswamy Stadium officially inaugurates the Anil Kumble End and Rahul Dravid End in honour of their service to Karnataka & Indian cricket,” wrote IPL’s social media handles in caption while sharing the video.

A look at Dravid and Kumble's careers
Dravid had an illustrious career at the international level, as he began with a magnificent 95 on his Test debut against England at Lord’s. He went on to represent India in 164 Tests, 344 ODIs and 1 T20Is, scoring 24,064 runs in total.
He hit 48 centuries in his career and is the third-highest run getter in international cricket for the country. Following his retirement, Dravid even coached India to the T20 World Cup 2024 victory in the West Indies & USA. He also guided the under-19 side to World Cup victory in 2018.
On the other hand, Anil Kumble made his international debut in 1990 and went on to play 132 Tests and 271 ODIs for his country. He went on to scalp 956 wickets in his career, being the highest wicket taker for India in both formats. Kumble is also one of the three cricketers to have taken all ten wickets in a Test innings, achieving the feat against Pakistan in 1999 in Delhi.
Both Kumble and Dravid also played for RCB for the first three seasons. Kumble even led the team to their first-ever final in 2009, but lost to Deccan Chargers in the summit clash. Kumble also coached the Indian senior men’s team from 2016 to 2017.
