Lutho Sipamla ruled out of Namibia T20I tri-series due to injury

South Africa fast bowler Lutho Sipamla has been ruled out of the ongoing T20I tri-series against Namibia and Zimbabwe due to a left hamstring injury. Sipamla only bowled nine deliveries in South Africa's first game against Namibia before leaving the field and did not feature in the second fixture against Zimbabwe.

He has been replaced by fast bowler Andile Simelane, who has played ten T20Is for South Africa. Sipamla is also the second player to be ruled out of the series as batter Jason Smith also isn’t available due to a groin injury.

He is the third player having injury concerns for South Africa as fast bowler Kagiso Rabada is also set to miss the upcoming ODI series against Australia as he recovers from a right hamstring problem. Rabada's availability for the Test series against Australia also remains under a cloud, and the final decision on it will be taken closer to that series' start date on October 9.

South Africa have a packed schedule coming up as they're scheduled to play two more T20Is in Namibia, along with the possibility of playing a third, if they qualify for the tri-series final. They will further play three ODIs in Namibia and will host Australia for ODIs and Tests. The Proteas will also lock horns with Bangladesh for a full tour at home and England for Tests and ODIs before the SA20.
